We’re thrilled to share a heartwarming story about one of our latest projects. This summer, we built a custom VersaCourt basketball court for Covenant House New Orleans. This nonprofit does amazing work by helping youth overcome homelessness and human trafficking, and we were honored to be a part of creating a safe and inspiring space for young people at Covenant House.
What made this project even more special was that it was a truly collaborative effort. The VersaCourt was provided by the New Orleans Pelicans — yes, the NBA team! As a small business headquartered in New Orleans, we were incredibly grateful to collab with our home team and build a place designed to bring joy and fun to our city’s young people. The new court is a place where these young people can connect, play, and just be kids.
This custom basketball court is made by VersaCourt, the country’s leading manufacturer of multi-sport courts. VersaCourt’s tile system technology creates the perfect surface for basketball, tennis, pickleball, and other sports.
We absolutely love the vibrant colors and design because it creates a fun and welcoming atmosphere. We’re confident that this court will provide countless hours of enjoyment for the kids at Covenant House.
Our Louisiana project manager Marie Bellows led this effort. “It was a joy to team up with the Pelicans and Covenant House on this project,” says Marie. “As someone born and raised in New Orleans, it was exciting to be able to give back to our community in this way.”
It’s been incredible to see the positive impact this court has already had on the community. The kids love playing basketball and hanging out on the court, and it’s a great way for them to connect with each other. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something so special.
At Pelican Playgrounds, we’re passionate about building spaces that inspire and bring joy. This project is just one example of how our work can make a real difference in people’s lives. We’re excited to continue creating amazing play areas and basketball courts for communities across Louisiana and Mississippi.
