Building joy in Jackson, Mississippi

Mimi’s Playground in Jackson, Mississippi was built in 2025 at Children’s Hospital, located at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). This playground is a Pelican Playgrounds Limitless Playspace, representing the best design standards for inclusion and accessibility.

The playground was donated by Mrs. Robbie Hughes, a local philanthropist, lovingly known as Mimi to her family. Mimi’s Playground was designed to nurture healing for pediatric patients at Children’s of Mississippi who are going through the toughest health challenges. Every piece was carefully chosen to encourage movement and inclusive play that supports patients along their care journey.

Featured Playground Equipment

Mimi’s Playground at Children’s of Mississippi features several inclusive playground pieces designed to promote healing:

The playground features equipment from Playworld, Cre8Play, SoftPlay, and ForeverLawn Gulf South. We are grateful to collaborate with Flagstar Construction and WBA Architects on this project!
